“Physicists say we are made of stardust,” the description of the website Star Stuff says. “Intergalactic debris and far-flung atoms, shards of carbon nanomatter rounded up by gravity to circle the sun.,” the little blurb continues nebulously ending on, “We are all star stuff.” The website is the intergalactic playing field for Daniel Bae, a young artist who manipulates and transform starscapes into these acid tripping, bright, unreal and unusual views of space.
The pieces are all chronicled on his very successful Tumblr and sold as art prints through his Society6 store. Each piece is taken found galaxy and space images which Bae manipulates by adding a range of colors and inversion to, ending in these neo-psychedelic skyscapes. Bae makes this art as a hobby, which he does in addition to being an aspiring filmmaker and musician: he’s quite a man about town.
Admittedly, the pieces are not incredibly groundbreaking; however, they are fun and easy to consume, able to take you to these glossy flashy cosmos without any mental strain. They are perfect viewing to kick off a hot Friday in July! Daniel has a lot of work on his Tumblr and is making them quite often. Check out more of the artwork here and the rest of his Tumblr here.
