Matters Of Space is a Highland Park based interior design and consultation firm. They have a light, feminine style that pairs refined natural items with rich colored objects. They have a fairly low key style that says a lot by not saying too much. We found that they also make a few products, one of them being reclaimed rope necklaces that speak exactly to their aesthetic.
The necklaces are knotted, intertwined, strung together pieces that are like a more elaborate but more delicate versions of Ranya Aguiniga’s now iconic LA rope accessories. Matters Of Space’s rope necklaces are like the next evolution of Aguiniga’s wears: they are far more approachable and, frankly, more likely to be worn. From the colors used (particularly the red, white, blue, yellow, and beige), the necklaces appear to be a more eco friendly answer to refined WASPy neckwear. I could definitely see Ladies Who Lunch in Beverly Hills or New York or Washington, DC wearing these necklaces out like they’re covered in diamonds. “Oh, it’s from reclaimed materials,” a blonde woman in a sailor top would say as she strokes the knot of her necklace: that’s exactly how I could see these necklaces worn.
We’re not exactly sure where you can pick up the necklaces but we imagine you can swing by their showroom/studio at 5005 York Boulevard to take a look at them. They likely have more creations in too as well as lots of other goodies you can peruse. For more on Matters Of Space, check out their website and their Facebook.
