On the third day of Holiday, my LA friend gave to me: Kenny Scharf for Kiehl’s.
Who Would This Be Great For? The always clean, always dapper Angeleno who is as much of a fan of street art as he or she is a fan of high end toiletries.
Who Is Giving This Gift? The Grove shopper with a heart of gold, who wants a “cool, artsy gift” but doesn’t know where else to find anything “cool” and “artsy” at The Grove for their forward thinking friend.
Why This Gift? Angeleno Kenny Scharf is known far and wide for his poppy, fun characters that evoke a Saturday morning cartoon spirit as well as neon colored LA hieroglyphics. Scharf is this year’s Kiehl’s fine artist collaborator. Like KAWS and Koons before him, he took Kiehl’s lucious, creamy Creme de Corps line and gave them a colorful packaging. The line of packages are called Globo Mundo and one hundred percent of the profit is going to artistic non-profit RxArt. The brand is also selling an exclusive “Squirt,” which is a character that was made in a limited edition of 2K (1K sold in the US, the rest around the world). You even get a signed certificate of authenticity! Your clean artsy friend will love that–and at $50? A steal!
Where Can You Get It? There are a shit ton of Kiehl’s around Los Angeles so this should be an easy gift to track down: find out where the closest Kiehl’s to you is here. You can also order the collection from their website.
