Last evening, Roots Beverly Hills opened its doors for a pre-holiday party. Co-founder Michael Budman was in attendance for the Crystal Head Vodka and Blackberry sponsored event, which were quite apparent in a few Playbooks and vodka heads floating about as people smiled and held them. It was our first time at the Roots store, which is a warm Canadian escape on Beverly Dr.
The store, which is just a stone’s throw away from Streets of Beverly Hills, is a fairly large L-shape filled with knitted high-quality sweaters, amazing leather goods, and some great staple pieces from Levi’s, Pendleton, and other brands. For those unfamiliar with the brand, they are a Canadian brand (originating in Toronto, specifically) that create great, cozy wear that is perfect for cold Los Angeles nights. They’re very, very proud of their Canadian heritage, which is where their biggest friend at the event came forth: Travel Alberta.
The event’s attendees were markedly mature business types, all readying for the holiday rush and grabbing a quick drink and snacks in the shop. Everyone was in good spirits, checking out the products and chatting. The evening could have stood to be a little climatically colder, but–in true LA form–it wouldn’t be a holiday (or, pre-holiday party) if the weather weren’t in the mid-seventies.
Roots Beverly Hills is located at 371 Beverly Drive.
