Wander over to The Generic Man website and you will find yourself lusting after several, several, several pairs of shoes. For example: there is a pair of silver hi-tops that I have almost purchased four times over because I have been dying for a pair of metallic shoes. Soon. To make matters worse (Or better?), their new collaboration with Comme des Garçons has surfaced and it is a sexy, sleek camo pair of kicks.
The shoes are handmade in Portugal with a leather black top and “camo” bottom. They are a balancing of the simple and the over-the-top, the streamlined and the ostentatious. Half of the shoes feature Generic’s requisite refined take on “tennis” shoes which Comme round out with their crazy bottom. Crazy soled shoes are typically too flashy or too understated to “work” but these balance out the calm with the crazy—to great effect. They are so fucking good looking.
You know these shoes are going to be very one-of-a-kind and, if you grabbed them, you’re unlikely to bump into another dude in town with them. They do have a hefty price tag at nearly four hundred dollars—but it is well worth the cost. Can’t afford them but wish you could? Head over to the sale section like I have been for the past few hours.
